Terms of service
Last updated September 29, 2026
These terms apply to merchants who install Mint Back in Stock ("the app"), made by Mint Labs ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
The service
The app shows a "Notify me when available" form on sold-out product variants of your Shopify store, stores the requests shoppers make, and emails them when the item can be bought online again (and, on Pro, when its price drops). It also shows you the demand for each variant and how alerts perform. We may improve or change features; we will not remove a paid feature you rely on without notice.
Emails sent for you
Alert emails are sent on your behalf, in your store's name, only to shoppers who asked for them, once per request, each with an unsubscribe link. You are responsible for the text you put in the emails and the form, and for how you use any shopper data you export. Delivery depends on the shopper's email provider and on our email service being available; when sending is unavailable, requests are kept and sent later, but we can't guarantee a delivery time.
Billing
Plans are billed by Shopify every 30 days in USD after the free trial. You can cancel at any time by changing plans or uninstalling the app. Charges are handled entirely by Shopify under Shopify's terms.
Acceptable use
Don't use the app to send messages shoppers didn't ask for, and don't add email addresses to it other than through the storefront form. We may pause sending for a store that causes spam complaints or abuse, and will tell you why.
Availability and liability
We work to keep the app available, accurate and secure, but it is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the app in the 3 months before a claim.
Data processing addendum
When the app processes personal data of your shoppers on your behalf, you are the controller and we are the processor. We will:
- process personal data only to provide the app's features, following your instructions given through the app's settings;
- process only the minimum data needed: a shopper's email address, the variant they asked about, the date, the price at the time for price-drop requests, and whether they ticked the optional marketing box; order notifications are read only to count orders from alerts and aren't stored;
- use shopper email addresses only to send the alerts they asked for — never for our own marketing, never sold, never used for advertising or to train AI models;
- keep personal data confidential and limit access to authorised personnel;
- encrypt it in transit (HTTPS) and at rest (Cloudflare D1 encryption at rest, plus app-level AES-256-GCM encryption of email addresses);
- use Cloudflare (hosting, database, queue and email sending) and Shopify as our only sub-processors;
- delete each request once its alert is sent or after 180 days, delete a shopper's data when Shopify sends an erasure request or they unsubscribe, and delete all shop data after uninstall (shop redaction);
- help you respond to data subject requests (the app lets you download a shopper's data) and notify you without undue delay of any personal data breach.
Changes
We will post changes to these terms here and update the date above. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
